One thought I’ve had this week, given Millei in Argentina has sucked up to Trump since before he was elected and marketed himself as part of the global populist surge, if Argentina invaded the Falklands would America outright support Argentina?
I don't think so. Trump goes to war only if America gets to keep the territory it conquers. The only other war that trump likes is bombing Iran. All other wars are other people's problem.
Yeah, but Cummings encourages Musk to encourage Millei to invade with a promise the US will sit on the sidelines and sneak the Argentinians intelligence, including from 5 eyes. This would be done to damage Starmer with Musk then publicly cheering him on and getting Twitter to prioritise anti-Starmer Brits (and Russian bots) making Britain look divided and the way too online Badenoch doing the opposite of Michael Foot, prioritising party advantage over patriotism and turning Falklands 2 into a deeply divisive conflict where Trump, Musk, Farage, Badenoch and the Tory press hopes England lose
Would be nice if this was far-fetched left wing lunacy, letting our imagination run wild, but seriously if Millei decided to invade what percentage chance do you give of the Telegraph, Mail and Tory’s giving full throated support to the British effort? I’d put it well below 50% and I would give a higher than 30% chance those groups would put hurting Starmer politically as more important than a British victory
Dominic Cummings, the same one the Mail had reported is feeding information to Musk, he ran the Leave campaign and has written often on his blog about his contacts in Silicon Valley
I think you misread it, I’m not saying there is a story saying this, there is a story saying cumming is encouraging Musk to destabilise Starmer, if you read what I wrote the Argentina thing is something I am saying could happen and if it did I can already predict the unpatriotic reaction if the Tory press and broader British right
One of the early points in this excellent podcast reminded me of a comment I wrote on January 12On Phillips O'Brien's substack about the reversal of the gains of World War II.
A few weeks ago, I had a depressing insight into the fact that a war can die. To run through a few of the wars that the United States has participated in:
The Revolutionary War has never died. Its main effect the creation of the United States has been continuously embraced since 1776.
The Civil War died in the late 1870s. The North allowed the South to reimpose virtual slavery upon African Americans in southern states. The Civil War came back to life in the 1950s with the civil rights movement.
World War I with its principle of self-determination for every ethnic group— nationhood for Poland Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, etc.— is still basically alive. However, the idea of an international body that could enforce global security has faltered in the form of the League of Nations and the United Nations.
World War II with its principle of no change in national boundaries by force, and all the rest of the post war order, used to be alive until very recently, but I now fear it is dying before our eyes. It has certainly died for the new American isolationist movement. Trump certainly does not believe in that principle. I think Trump would rather have a root canal than give further aid to Ukraine.
The US Civil War was fought because the loons in the South mistook Lincoln for an abolitionist. Which he wasn't in 1860-61. Nor were most of the Union soldiers
Licoln was, however, a fanatical believer in the Union, which is why the war happened.
WW II began because Hitler was a threat to the Balance of Power in Europe, thus to British security.
The war continued because Hitler invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, then declared war on the USA in December.
Liberal principles had very little to do with either war.
Our only hope is Europe and we need them and they need us. But how? We have no single pro-European group to put pressure on Starmer, we have dozens many of whom fall out with each other. We made life very easy for the leavers before 2016 and ever since: we are so alone and so weak right now.
Unsure on that as we are worse off. Our incomes/wealth/property inequality is worst than just about all major socities in Single Market. Further we face deprivation in healthcare and poverty in our regions far worst than most of Europe. Our public services and infrastructure have eroded away. We have been badly wounded by 14 yrs NeoLiberalism. Better off S.M. countries if not Social Democratic still have that inheritance of a better well-being. Everything is ideal in England for the far right upsurge given our distorted media and the meekness of Labour,LibDems, Greens, etc.,
One of the central themes here was the way the Tory Party leaders have ridden on the coat tails of the foreigner billionnaire Musk attacks on our UK PM and the Tories increasing moves to a Far Right polemic. But forgive me if I am not correct but our BBC have utterly failed to pick this up and question said Tory leaders about their unpatriotic acts and climbing into bed with Reform's ideology.
Rather BBC continues its 14 yr love affair with the Tories , continues to platform always someone from the Right on their programmes, continues to give pride of place to a Far Right leader Nigel Farage whose 5 MPs are 'less' than 1% of our MPs while ignoring progressive paries who make up well over 82% of our UK MPs. Its not just Labour who are weak and meek with our media its Lib Dems, Greens, SNP and many others. As so many have said the 'messaging' from our UK 'Progressives' remains too feeble and too infrequent.
The 1911 Prophecy (by Russian monks) stating Britain would cease to be Great, then come to almost complete ruin, is being fulfilled before our eyes.
As is a sober prophecy I heard in 1990 stating that God was going to reduce Britain to rubble, so He can build a new, Christian Britain in its place.
Exciting, hopeful times ! Certainly the heap of rubble now passing for Britain - corrupt, apostate, cruel, self-destructive, growingly Islamist - will be no loss.
And God's will is going to be done. No one, of any shade of political or religious opinion, can thwart it.
One thought I’ve had this week, given Millei in Argentina has sucked up to Trump since before he was elected and marketed himself as part of the global populist surge, if Argentina invaded the Falklands would America outright support Argentina?
Now that is a good point
And beyond taking his side of if it were to happen, would Musk actively encourage it?
I don't think so. Trump goes to war only if America gets to keep the territory it conquers. The only other war that trump likes is bombing Iran. All other wars are other people's problem.

Who is Cummings who is encouraging musk to help out Argentina?. Can you give me a link to this information?
Dominic Cummings, the same one the Mail had reported is feeding information to Musk, he ran the Leave campaign and has written often on his blog about his contacts in Silicon Valley
This is not a link. If you can give me a good link supporting your information I will look at it.
I think you misread it, I’m not saying there is a story saying this, there is a story saying cumming is encouraging Musk to destabilise Starmer, if you read what I wrote the Argentina thing is something I am saying could happen and if it did I can already predict the unpatriotic reaction if the Tory press and broader British right
Better to have a radical government now, using its 160 seat majority, than two timid terms I think.
Britain is bankrupt, and its creditors are likely to pull the rug soon.
Its economy is smoke and mirrors and its society and politics kaput.
Even if Starmer was Lenin, there'd be very little he could do.

There's no hope for France, Germany or the EU.
Therefore no hope for Britain in that quarter.
